Hizbul Finance Chief Killed in Kashmir Gunfights

Srinagar, Feb 10: Three militants including Financial Chief of Pro-Pakistan militant group Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in two separate gunfights in Kashmir.
A top police officer in South Kashmir, Himmat Kumar Lohia, told Newsblaze that acting on a specific information regarding the presence of militants in a house at village Noorpora, Tral, South Kashmir, Police and Paramilitary launched an operation during which militants opened indiscriminate fire on troops.
The fire was returned and in the ensuring encounter, Financial Chief of Hizbul Mujahideen Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Hanief Khan and Javeed Ahmad Malik were killed.
Giving further details he said that the financial chief of the Hizb was looking after the finances of the Hizbul Mujahideen all over Kashmir. Besides being involved in about 20 killing since 1990, the hardcore militant was also involved in the car blast in 2006 in which seven soldiers were killed.The militant who had joined the militancy in 1990 had risen through the ranks. The second militant had joined the militancy in 2001.
Meanwhile, a top police officer of north Kashmir said that a Lashkar-I-Toiba militant was killed in a two hour long encounter with Police and Army at Shiva Sopore in north Kashmir. The slain militant was said to be a Pakistani National.
