Kashmir Gunfight Kills 3 Militants

Srinagar, Feb 8: Three Pakistani militants were killed in a fierce gunfight with Indian army personnel in the Poonch region of Kashmir, Friday while seven persons including four troopers were injured in a grenade attack in North Kashmir.
Police said that on receiving specific information about the presence of a group of militants in a Gujjar Dhok in Mendhar, troops of 39 RR (Romeo Force) and SOG launched a search operation in the area. "During the operation, they came under volume of fire from militants hiding in the area. The fire was returned by the troops and in the ensuing gunfight three militants were killed", they said.
Meanwhile, seven persons including four troopers were injured when unidentified militants hurled a grenade at Bandipora in North Kashmir, Friday.
The injured persons were shifted to hospital, where they are being attended by doctors.
