Chaplain Tells True Story Through Narrow Gate Productions' Feature Film, Chores
Cult activity investigation forms the subject of Narrow Gate Productions' ready to release motion picture, "Chores"
FOLSOM, Calif. (EWORLDWIRE) Feb 7, 2008
When local Chaplain Sonnie Hamner endeavors to uncover information about two California students, she is directed to communicate with cult members and others about the recruitment and organizational practices of cults, the pervasiveness of cult activity within the California university system and throughout the U.S., and the effect of cult activity on students and their families. Hamner bears the roles of writer, producer and director to tell her incredible true story of the heinous "a-cult" in the motion picture, "Chores."
Hamner chronicles her pastoral time with two boys who grew increasingly disconnected from their families; both experienced significant problems. Stories such as this one only touch the tip of the iceberg, according to Hamner.
During her pursuit of information, she learned how cults use animals as a sacrifice and that there was intensifying talk about human sacrifice. Other accounts included that of a child missing for over a year and child exploitation within the "a-cult."
Filmed in retro-style reminiscent of Landmark classic thrillers of the 1960's such as The Bad Seed, Psycho and Rosemary's Baby, "Chores" deals with evil in human form - taboo issues, mental depravity, and murder.
The result of Hamner's investigation appallingly advanced real evidence of systematic exploitation of children in line with other research - that 1 out of every 5 girls and 1 out of every 10 boys will be sexually victimized before adulthood, and that a child goes missing in America every 40 seconds - over 2,100 kids a day.
A cult environment is explained as a destructive group that causes harm to the behavior attitude patterns of a human being. What the subjects of Hamner's encountered could be members of anyone's family. The battle between good and evil reaches its climax in the acts of men and ends with an unexpected twist.
Rated "R" by the Motion Picture Association of America, the motion picture "Chores" contains disturbing situations and some violence.
Narrow Gate Productions, a Northern California-based independent film company. was founded by Sonnie Hamner (Chaplain) and her husband, Gary Hamner.
