Judyth Piazza Gets up Close and Personal with John Lehr "10 Items or Less"
By Judyth Piazza
John Lehr is the co-Creator, Executive Producer and Star of the TBS comedy 10 ITEMS OR LESS which started its second season on TBS in January. Regularly beating The Daily Show in ratings, 10 ITEMS has been both a commercial and critical success for TBS.
Lehr's series of one-man shows, THE LEHR CURSE, sold out runs in both Los Angeles and New York. Lehr is currently in talks to turn the award winning shows into a series of specials for television.
Considered a master at improvisation, Lehr was hired as the original Geico Caveman, adlibbing most of the lines that made that commercial campaign famous. His writing and improv skills have also served him well in television. In addition to 10 ITEMS OR LESS, Lehr has sold shows as both a writer and a performer to ABC, NBC, FOX, TBS, Sony, Warner Brothers and a number of other studios, broadcast and cable networks.
Other tv credits include: "Jesse" series regular (NBC), "The Wayne Brady Project" series regular, (pilot - ABC), "Friends" guest star (NBC), and many others.
John Lehr received his BA from Northwestern University. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Jules.
