Award Recognizes Product for Demonstrating Innovation, Technological Advancement and Contribution to Soldier Modernization

UltraCell Corporation, a leading producer of reformed methanol fuel cells (RMFCs) for mobile power applications, today announced that the company's XX25(TM) best micro fuel cell platform with hybrid battery and extended runtime fuel options, garnered the prestigious "Best Soldier System Innovation & Technology" at the Soldier Technology U.S. 2008 Conference.

Conference officials honored the product displaying the most innovation, technological advancement and capability to contribute to the modernization of the solider. The Best Soldier System award was the only award given out among the conference exhibitors.

"We're thrilled the Conference honored the XX25 fuel cell system in this way," said Frank Beafore, vice president of UltraCell's Ohio operations. "This award helps to promote fuel cells as a viable alternative, and underscores the company's success in developing a longer-lasting, lightweight power solution for military applications."

The Soldier Technology conferences gather military, research and industry experts to discuss the latest trends and technologies for the advancement of the modern soldier. Soldier Technology is the largest solider modernization conference in Europe and launched its first conference in the United States in January 2008.

UltraCell's RMFC technology -- fueled by methanol, a renewable, lightweight fuel -- provides uninterrupted power for extended periods at a considerable weight advantage over existing battery solutions. The rugged design of the XX25 makes it suitable for the most demanding of environments, and its compatibility with military equipment make it an ideal portable power solution for military applications.
