Srinagar, Jan 29: Expressing his concern over the continued human rights violations in Kashmir, the pro-India Kashmiri leader today demanded recall of all four Indian lawmakers from Kashmir.
Addressing media here today, Awami National Conference (ANC) president, Muzaffar Shah said that Indian troops deployed in Kashmir have let loose a reign of terror. "Since past 18 years, the whole Kashmir has been subjugated to worst kind of treatment and harassment by Indian forces. The Indian forces have been given unbridled powers and they are not held accountable for any civilian killings," he said.
He said that a commission should be set up to probe all the killings that have taken place since 1989.
Expressing his party's resentment over the continuing incidents of human rights violations in Kashmir, he demanded that all four Indian parliamentarians from Kashmir should be recalled. "They have failed to raise the pathetic condition of Kashmiri people in Indian parliament and they should resign," he added.
He said the party's stand is that Kashmir is unresolved and needs solution. "The Kashmir issue should be resolved peacefully and amicably by India and Pakistan and the people of Kashmir should also be involved in the dialogue process," added the pro-Indian leader.
