By Fayaz Wani
Srinagar, Jan 22: The Governor of Kashmir, a former army general, Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha today said that abetting terrorism and promoting intolerance have been the roote cause for the prevailing ills in Pakistan.
The former Indian army general said, "we have to learn a lesson from what is happing across the border, though we are concerned about the people of Pakistan and wish them to come out of the present morass".
He said that the volatile scenario in Pakistan amplifies that the monster of terrorism ultimately bites the hands of those who feed it. He said that the people there are suffering and it is the desire of India to see peace prevailing there soon.
The retired Indian general eulogized India's democratic and secular values, saying that the country provides ample opportunities to open up vistas of progress and prosperity to all, irrespective of their religious or regional affiliation.
