On January 20, 2008 at approximately 2:19 A.M. officers were called to the 1000 block of Sibley Street regarding a shooting.
Upon arrival officers located a male and female inside the residence. Both had been shot in the head. A small caliber handgun was found nearby. The female, a 36 year old resident of Folsom, was transported to Mercy San Juan and is expected to recover. The male, a 37 year old resident of Folsom, was also transported to Mercy San Juan where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Witnesses tell police the male and female are husband and wife. The incident appears to be the result of a domestic dispute. Three children, 14 yr, 10 yr, and 6 yrs, were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, none of whom were harmed.
Preliminary investigations indicate no other parties were involved. No arrests have been made at this time.
Apparently, police had been called, in previous domestic violence reports over recent years, but not at this address.
A neighbor says the family were relatively new to the area.
