Greenpeace Has Whalers on the Run - Please Help!
It's official. The Greenpeace ship Esperanza has caught up to the Japanese whaling ship and is literally chasing them through the Southern Ocean!
If the Japanese stop running and get out their harpoons, these activists will stop at nothing to save these whales. The photo to the right is of a real Greenpeace activist being sprayed with water by a whaler who wanted him to give up the life of this beautiful creature.
Greenpeace is the answer to this tragic problem. Make a donation today to help them stop the horrific practice of whaling.
When the Esperanza finally caught up to the Japanese whaling ship after a 10-day search, activists radioed this message to the whalers: "Our vessel and crew are here in the Southern Ocean to condemn your hunt, which includes endangered species, and to insist that you leave the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary and return to port immediately," said Sakyo Noda, Greenpeace Japan whales campaigner. "Your so-called scientific whaling is a hoax and has been dismissed as useless by the International Whaling Commission. Modern scientific research on whales does not require killing them."
Reinforcing Noda's statements, Japan has close to 4,000 tons of whale meat from its "scientific" whaling program in cold storage - uneaten, unsold, and unwanted.
You can help stop this brutal and unnecessary hunt. Make a donation to Greenpeace today.
Recently, the Japanese government agreed to remove Humpback whales from their hunt. They were feeling the pressure from groups like Greenpeace and other countries. But almost 1000 whales are still in danger, including 50 endangered fin whales.
Make a donation today to Greenpeace, the organization who is truly fighting to stop whaling once and for all.
