Merc International Announces Non-Brokered Private Placement

MIMI will offer up to 5,000,000 Units at $0.35 per Unit. Each Unit is comprised of one common share and one half common share purchase warrant. Each whole warrant will allow the holder to purchase one common share for a period of twenty-four months for $0.50. This private placement of Units replaces a financing announced on November 21, 2007 under which MIMI agreed to raise up to $1,400,000 by way of a non-brokered private placement of units with the same terms and conditions.

MIMI has agreed to pay a finder's fee of up to 8% of the total proceeds raised in the offering upon closing in units, each of these units having the same terms as the units sold pursuant to the private placement. The proceeds from this private placement, which is subject to regulatory acceptance, will be used to continue exploration on the Borthwick Lake gold property in Ontario and for general working capital.
