Sycamore Professional donates generators to affected church
NORMAN, Okla. (EWORLDWIRE) Dec 12, 2007
Following a deadly ice storm that has pounded the Midwest, Louisville manufacturer, Sycamore Professional, is donating portable home generators to Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City as a part of its Giving Tree Project. These donations will be delivered to residents in immediate need of electrical power while the region waits out deadly ice storms.
Pam Millington with Crossings said she was beside herself with the company's generosity and greatly appreciates all that the Sycamore's Giving Tree Project is doing. Roger Hayes, director of sales for Sycamore, said, "We are doing everything we can to help in this humanitarian effort to provide for those in need."
The Giving Tree Project is a private campaign managed by Sycamore. Donated generators are offered to areas of the United States during power outage emergencies. Sycamore Professional works with a national network of dealers and distributors to get generators and supplies donated by Sycamore where they are needed most.
This week's ice storm has resulted in 18 deaths in Oklahoma and Missouri, according the Associated Press. Over 500,000 Oklahoma customers lost power when electrical lines broke under the weight of heavy ice and cracked tree branches. Other affected states include Iowa, Kansas, northern Illinois, and southern Wisconsin. Current conditions are touted as the largest power outage in Oklahoma's history.
"The aftermath of ice storms is much more dangerous than hurricanes or tornadoes," Hayes said. After an ice storm, you don't have the luxury of getting out of your home to drive and seek shelter. Most of the time, you are trapped inside your house with no lights and no heat."
Sycamore has also stocked its Midwest distributors, AES LawnParts and Engine Warehouse Inc., with generators to supply their local dealers. Associated dealers are qualified to give expert advice and service. The models offered include 2500, 3500, 6000, and 7000 watt generators. All are easy to start, ultra-quiet, and always reliable. Sycamore Professional Generators come standard with a portability kit and a comprehensive two-year warranty.
Founded in 2004, Sycamore Professional "> is quickly becoming a major player in the portable generator industry with its state-of-the-art generators and a BE MORE attitude. Those at Sycamore pride themselves on a growing dealer network. President Doug Peacock comments, "We have extremely high standards and strive to provide the best for all our customers."
Crossings Community Church is a non-denomination mega-church with several community outreach and volunteer programs. Its purpose is to be a Christ-centered Church building Christ-centered people through worship, Bible study, friendship, and compassion.
