Kashmir Snow Festival From December 24

Srinagar, Dec 11: Keeping an eye on tourists, Kashmir's Tourism Department is organizing "Kashmir snow festival" from December 24.

The festival will be held on the beautiful slopes of world's best tourist resort, Gulmarg. Director Tourism Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Shah said that Gulmarg is one of the most affordable place for winter games in the world. "To attract more domestic and international tourists, Kashmir Snow festival will be organized at Gulmarg from December 24", he said.

The official said that Gulmarg is one of the famous and cheap destinations for skiers and other winter sports. "Besides winter sports, tourists can enjoy the snowy beauty of the valley", he adds.

The official expressed the hope that large numbers of tourists and skiers, both Indian and international, would turn up. "Special facilities have been kept in place to lure maximum tourists from across the globe".

He added that this winter, an international skiing petrol team is being put in place on the ski slopes of Gulmarg, in order to make the skiing more safe and professional. "The team would contain experts from Australia, New Zealand and America, whose expertise would be used in rescue operations and avalanche control," he maintained.
