Guilt-Free Way To Lose Weight, Stay Healthy While Eating The Foods You Love!

Editor: Alan Gray

A fitness regimen is not complete without a proper diet, and Michael Torchia is a gourmet cook as well as a fitness expert, he redesigns recipes for foods that are not typically considered diet food. Roseanne Barr fell in love with his chocolate Fudge Brownie Cake. She couldn't believe that this decadent dessert could taste so delicious and be good for her.

The holiday season brings family gatherings, office parties, and lots of enjoyable food. Great tasting food usually brings unwanted holiday pounds, and Torchia's unique method of re-engineering recipes for people can easily help them melt away holiday pounds and establish beneficial lifelong habits of proper nutrition.

Facts:

  • 152 million Americans identify themselves as "health-conscious:"
  • 219 million Americans eat a junk food meal every week.
  • 73 million Americans eat a junk food meal at least once per day.
  • (CNN)

Most surprisingly, one third of all American children ages 4-19 eat a junk food meal at least once per day and of those children, the highest level of junk food consumption among children is found in higher-income, higher educated households.
    (The Journal of Pediatrics)

In other words, Americans who believe they know better - and can afford better -still indulge in junk food meals - for themselves and for their children.

Americans who eat junk food do, indeed, know better, but junk food eating is so deeply ingrained in the American way of life, we just can't let go. Whether a daily habit or an occasional guilty pleasure, the taste and convenience of a junk food meal is a part of the American diet - regardless of socio-economic lines.

Unlike other diet fads with a 95% rate of abandonment, low-carb diets have an 80% rate of retention. To date, of the 40 million Americans who have tried low-carb diets, 32 million report that they maintain low-carb lifestyles long after the target weight has been achieved. Going forward, this loyal population continues to spend 2.5 billion dollars a year on low-carb goods and services that allow them to maintain their low-carb lifestyles more easily. (New York Times) And the number of low-carb converts is growing daily.
