An Announcement of Declaration of Candidacy for President of the United States

I, Arthur Flowers, as a concerned and disappointed citizen of these great United States, am running for President of the United States, as an independent write-in candidate. If you are also concerned about the path being taken by our President and those running to replace him, and the do-nothing Congress, I need your help to change our current self destructive course.

It isn't any form of monetary help in the way of contributions. We are not asking for one red cent. What we are asking for is your attention, and a small amount of your time (20 to 30 minutes, one time only). Hopefully you will read my platform which follows, and are in agreement with me.

You can help make these plans a reality by what we call an inverted pyramid. By passing this message on to people of like-mind in your sphere of communication (relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etcetera) even if it's only one or two, and asking them to pass it on, we can begin a snowball effect of hope for change never before seen in America.

In order to do this without cost to you, we are campaigning via the Internet. It won't be necessary to have big money to cover the costs of advertising, traveling, PR people (that will be YOU), etcetera. All those billions of dollars combined can be used to implement programs to benefit YOU and your family!

Now, if you are with me there's one other thing you must do. You must register to vote and you must write me in as your next President (except in Nevada where my name will be on the ballot.) We do not have the time, nor the money to go to every state, pay the fee, and collect the State's required signatures to appear on the national ballot. I will have an Internet Web Site and blog that I will use to convey my positions to you. I will be willing to do interviews via telephone on talk shows (radio and TV). You, in turn, must do your part by supporting me in passing my message on and writing in the name: ARTHUR FLOWERS, for President, in the 2008 November election.

Following are some abbreviated examples of our Issues and Positions Platform:

1. Stop the war by bringing our troops home now, not in 2020;

2. Redeploy our troops from Korea (40,000) and Europe (125,000) to our Mexican border and stop the invasion by illegal aliens, international terrorists and drug runners. Deport illegals ... no amnesty;

3. Dump the bribed, do-nothing congress for a Direct Democracy, where the people represent themselves by voting on all the major issues of the times, on a yearly basis, e.g. Replace the income tax and IRS with a national sales tax; provide retirees with the same level and quality of health insurance currently enjoyed by Congress; etcetera.

4. Reaffirm Christmas as a national holiday or forfeit your paid holiday day off. Retailers who don't like Merry Christmas, Santa Claus, Christmas trees and gift giving should stop being the world's biggest hipocrites and refuse taking the billions in earnings and get into some other business;

5. Push for a bill that will allow pharmaceutical, and drug companies to become involved in a federally sponsored competitive pilot research program to develop a weight gain prevention medication (hopefully in pill form), and a weight loss, obesity treatment medication.
