Madison Media Institute Recording Students Work Daily With Historic Recording Console

Madison Media Institute - College of Media Arts
(MMI) in Madison, Wisconsin, is proud to announce the recent addition of a
Trident 80c 40 input recording console. "We try to expose our students to
a wide range of industry-standard equipment," says Doug Olson, chair of the
recording department at MMI. "We want the students to have the opportunity
to work on a variety of top-of-the-line recording and mixing equipment."
The school's rich history of involvement with media sets it apart from
other schools. MMI is recognized as a training leader by its peers in
education and businesses involved in new media production.
The console was purchased from Rumbo Recorders/Metronome Studio B in Canoga
Park, CA (formerly owned and operated by Captain and Tennille). The
recording pedigree of the console reads like a who's who of artists and
musicians. The list of those who recorded on this console includes but is
not limited to: Kiss, the Smashing Pumpkins, Guns N' Roses, Fleetwood Mac,
Motley Crue, John Cougar Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots, No
Doubt, The Rembrandts, Ice Cube, Keb Mo, P!nk, Spinal Tap, Megadeth, and
Ringo Starr. There were also a number of movie soundtracks that were
recorded and mixed on the console including: "Speed," "Robin Hood,"
"Interview with the Vampire," "Godzilla" and "Thirty Something."
Madison Media Institute has been preparing students for jobs in electronic
media since 1969. They know how the latest trends in multimedia -- DVD, the
Internet, e-mail, HDTV and digital broadcasting -- are reshaping the
entertainment and communications industries. Madison Media Institute is
recognized as a leading resource for training and expert guidance in media
arts. All of the degree programs offered use the latest tools and
techniques to provide students with the training they need. MMI graduates
become videographers, web designers, 3D animators, music producers, sound
engineers or one of the many other professions in the entertainment and
media fields. If you want to be part of the new media arts scene, we
invite you to explore your options at MMI.
