Content security gateway sales up 4% in 3Q07

Sales of content security gateways are growing
steadily, up 4% in 3Q07 to $392.3 million, following a 7% increase in 2Q07,
according to Infonetics Research's latest "Content Security Appliances and
Software" report.
Sales of content security gateway appliances topped content security

years, the report says.
"The content security market is ripe with players large and small, some
with very focused product lines and strategies, and others with broad
offerings, all working to serve a very real need to secure networks of all
sizes and improve employee productivity," said Jeff Wilson, principal
analyst for network security at Infonetics Research.
Other highlights from the report:
-- Sales of content security appliances and software together will grow
to $2.4 billion in 2010
-- Worldwide appliance revenue is forecast to increase more than 50% in
2007 over 2006
