Crossfire War – Fighting Increases on Gaza/Israel Border

Crossfire War – RAPID FIRE NEWS=TEHRAN – GAZA – DAMASCUS WATCH – West Asia – North – Northeast Africa Theatre: Tehran – Riyadh – Tripoli – Khartoum – Amman – Baghdad – Damascus – Beirut – Ramallah – Gaza/Jerusalem – Paris – Rome – London – Washington – Cairo; Fighting Increases on Gaza/Israel Border – Rocket – Tank – Mortar Fire – US Again Has Three Carrier Strike Groups in Central Command Area – Persian Gulf – Northern Arabian Sea – Iran Commissions New Submarine – Two Indian Soldiers Killed in Kashmir on Line of Control

Night Watch: NAHAL OZ – Debka reports fighting has increased on the Gaza/Israel border as Israeli units had to respond with tank fire because of an unusually heavy mortar attack Sunday night. Three Qassam rockets were also launched at the Israeli Kibbutz Nahal Oz. The Rockets combined with the mortar fire, 20 rounds, and four Israeli soldiers were injured at their base near the settlement. Tanks of the Israel Defence Force (IDF) had to target two Palestinian militant groups; one of them a mortar team and the other was a group attempting to cross the border fence from Gaza into Israel to stage an attack. [DEBKA]

Northern Arabian Sea – Debka is reporting a third U. S. carrier, the USS Harry Truman has just arrived in the Central Command area-Persian Gulf-Arabian Sea, joining the USS Enterprise and USS Nimitz. With the USS Truman is the British destroyer HMS Manchester. Each carrier heads a strike group and the USS Enterprise conducted an anti-submarine exercise in mid-November. [DEBKA]

Tehran – RIA reports the Iranian navy has just commissioned a new submarine, named Ghadir, that is eqiupped with quiet engines and is capable of firing missiles and torpedoes simultaneously. Iran navy commander Admiral Habib Sayyari stated, “This submarine is equipped with advanced weapons and electronic systems. (Iranian) scientists and engineers have developed it in the last decade. The Iranian navy-surface ships, submarines and naval bases-is equipped with all the necessary modern weaponry, including missiles. Their range is sufficient to protect effectively our southern flank in the Persian Gulf.” If Iran attacks first they would have the advantage. I assume Iran’s naval bases are some of the first targets of the Pentagon. [RIA]

Dadal Post – NewsBlaze reports two Indian soldiers have just been killed during an encounter with Islamic militants infiltrating across the Line of Control (LoC) coming from the part of Kashmir controlled by Pakistan. The firefight occurred at the Dadal Post in Rajouri with the militants escaping afterward. There are unconfirmed reports the soldiers were actually killed by fire from Pakistani soldiers, if that is true then this is the second time in less than a week an Indian soldier was killed by fire from Pakistan and that would mean Islamic militants are no longer operating alone, but are now receiving covering fire from Pakistani units a major escalation.
