Folsom Tree Lighting Officially Begins Festivities on Friday
By Alan Gray
Yes, its that time of the year again. Christmas is almost upon us and the Folsom Christmas tree lighting ceremony is tomorrow, Friday 30th November.
The free event, hosted by the Folsom Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Folsom Historic District Association starts on Sutter Street, lined with luminaries. The tree lighting takes place on Wool Street, right in front of the Chamber of Commerce, near the Historic Interpretive Center.
Take part in the festivities including free wagon rides, warm refreshments and visits with Santa Claus. Look for the fun children's activities.
The tree lighting begins at 7pm, with city officials in attendance.
This year, Santa will be at Stage Nine Gallery, 705 Sutter Street, in his specially designed Festive Greeting Area for taking holiday wishes.
Come down, bring the family and have your photo taken with Santa.
Stage Nine Gallery and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce team up this year to support the FHS Sober Grad Night and provide a free Santa photo. FHS Sober Grad fundraising program invites families to come down to Santa's new location at Stage Nine Gallery, to have their photo taken in the warmly designed set with fireplace and Christmas decorations.
Santa is available on December 1 and 2, 8 and 9, 15 and 16. Each Saturday, the studios are open from 11am to 5pm and on Sunday, 11am to 3pm. Photos are $15 and packages start as low as $20.
