Yuniti and TheGameHomepage Launch Gaming for Social Networking Sites
OpenGame Provides Easy Integration of Games into Social Networking Sites
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (EWORLDWIRE) Nov 26, 2007
Social networking sites are continually looking for new ways to keep their users busy, occupied and coming back. According to YUNiTi president Marcos Boyington, computer games and the need to beat a high score will help do just that.
YUNiTi and TheGameHomepage.com have in a joint effort created the OpenGame API, which will allow any social networking site to integrate game scores into their site. In addition, game players will find that OpenGame makes it extremely difficult to cheat because advanced score encryption and server-side score verification is used.
OpenGame has already been integrated with YUNiTi.com, and users now have the ability to compete for high scores and to view what games their friends have been playing. TheGameHomepage.com President Gaz Thomas plans to have score integration available in the near future to any site.
Additionally, YUNiTi.com plans to have OpenGame Server available to any gaming site wishing to provide game score integration.
"Gaz and I are really excited about this new feature," says Boyington. "People of all ages like to play games, and competing for high scores with friends makes it that much more fun."
