1 Million Euro 'Note' Recovered in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 23: Police today claimed to have recovered a one million Euro note from the possession of some persons in North Kashmir.
A police officer of North Kashmir, Dr Haseeb Mughal said that police received information that a gang of persons possessed and distributed fake currency notes in Kashmir. He said that after receiving the inputs, a police team was formed to investigate into the matter. "The police team carried out raids at several places at Handwara in North Kashmir. During these raids seven persons were arrested", he said.
He said that besides fake Indian currency, a one million Euro note was recovered from them. "The authenticity of the one million Euro currency note is being checked", he said.
The police officer said that by appearance it appears that the note is real, but "we are trying to ascertain the authenticity of the foreign currency note".
He said that the questioning of the arrested persons is going on.
