Honoring Our Nation's Heroes, Past and Present: U-Haul Sponsors 2007 Phoenix Veterans Day Parade

PHOENIX, Nov. 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Join U-Haul on Monday Nov. 12 at 10:30 a.m. as we pay tribute to and support our veterans and troops throughout the world as a sponsor of the 11th Annual 2007 Phoenix Veterans Day Parade. U-Haul will be honoring the men and women of the armed forces by leading the parade with commemorative SuperGraphic trucks which pay homage to the branches of our military. These trucks will be proudly displayed during the 2007 Phoenix Veterans Day Parade.

U-Haul, founded by World War II Navy veteran L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife Anna Mary Carty Shoen, has designed and dedicated five vibrant military SuperGraphics to honor the five branches of the military -- Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard, and to show our support for the men and women who have served and are still proudly serving in these branches of the armed services. There will also be two additional trucks in this years parade; the first depicting the Wounded Warrior Project's Soldier Ride (dedicated to the brave men and women who have been injured during the war in Iraq) and the United We Stand SuperGraphic dedicated to commemorating the events of Sept. 11. As part of its ongoing tribute to its military roots, U-Haul prides itself on partnering with military organizations such as the Vietnam Veterans of America, USO of Metropolitan New York, Marine Corps Marathon, Wounded Warrior Project and Navy Marine Corp Relief Society, to name a few.

"For the fourth year in a row, we are privileged to participate in and sponsor this year's Phoenix Veterans Day parade," stated U-Haul President John "J.T." Taylor. "U-Haul has supported our military personnel since 1945 and our latest Commemorative SuperGraphic series honors and pays tribute to every individual who has fought to defend our freedom. U-Haul will continue to lend its support to all of our military men and women, past and present, who risk their lives every day."

U-Haul is also a sponsor of the "Thank You for Serving" video project headed by the United War Veterans Council. The project involves creating a video along with message boards with words of support, love and encouragement to be sent to each military base throughout the world. During the parade, U-Haul encourages participants and spectators to take the time to sign the "Thank You for Serving" board and send messages of encouragement to those serving overseas today.
