Traffic Delays Announced for Partial Lane Closures Near Los Angeles International Airport

Airline passengers and airport workers are
advised to expect delays and allot extra time driving to Los Angeles
International Airport (LAX) on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, due to partial lane
closures on westbound (only) Century Blvd. between Aviation Blvd. and La
Cienega Blvd. Half of the four westbound lanes will be closed between 9
a.m. to 3:30 p.m., which is expected to delay traffic during the airport's
peak mid-day travel period. All eastbound lanes of Century Blvd. will
remain open during this period.
The Los Angeles Department of Water & Power announced the closure of the
two right-most traffic lanes on westbound Century Blvd. from Glasgow Place
to Concourse Way, in order to install a water meter for the new landscaped
medians along Century Blvd.
Motorists going to the airport are advised to use alternative routes such
as westbound I-105 Century Freeway or exit I-405 San Diego Freeway at La
Tijera Blvd. to enter the passenger terminal area via Airport Blvd. to 96th
Street. It should be noted that southbound Sepulveda Blvd. near the
airport also is undergoing construction.
