ISSYS & Oorja Protonics Start Partnership for Advanced Fuel Cells

Integrated Sensing Systems, Inc. (ISSYS) in
Ypsilanti, Michigan, announced today that it has started a partnership with
Oorja Protonics for the development of advanced alcohol-based fuel cell
systems. ISSYS sells novel, small, in-line, fuel concentration sensors
that greatly enhance the performance of emerging liquid fuel cell products.
ISSYS sensors provide accurate fuel concentration information that results
in both improving the efficiency of fuel cells and tremendously increasing
the life of the fuel cell membrane. Oorja Protonics offers a proprietary
technology for fuel cell power systems that are compact, efficient, and
reliable. They have built strategic alliances with leading OEMs and are
working with them to address the needs of their customers.
Dr. Nader Najafi, ISSYS' President and CEO, stated, "It is important for us
to partner with viable players in the fuel cell field. We are very
impressed by Oorja, both their technical and business expertise. We are in
contact with other major players in different markets based on liquid fuel
cell technologies."
Dr. Sanjiv Malhortra, President and CEO of Oorja, stated, "Oorja is
committed to providing the highest quality of fuel cell products to its
customers. ISSYS' sensors offer the best performance and reliability among
all the fuel concentration sensors we have tested. Incorporation of ISSYS'
sensors assists us in providing highly efficient fuel cells that last
longer than any other competitors'. We are impressed by ISSYS' high-quality
manufacturing and are looking forward to collaborating with them."
