Mexico is ranked as the second most obese country, behind the United States.(1) The time lag between the onset of obesity and increases in related chronic health problems (such as diabetes) suggests that the rise in obesity that has occurred in Mexico will have substantial implications on the future incidence of health problems.(1) The prevalence of diabetes in the Mexican population is shocking and still on the rise. Over 6.5 million Mexicans are diabetic, a figure that is expected to grow to 11 million by 2025.(2) Jose Cordova, Mexico's Health Secretary describes diabetes as Mexico's number one cause of death.(2)

Scientists have been studying how antioxidants affect health for several decades and much research has accumulated. It shows, quite clearly, that a diet with plenty of antioxidants can help to alleviate these conditions. Bionovix's new Meridium XN(TM) addresses these issues, naturally.

Studies show that Hispanics who are indigenous of Mexico are not the only ones at risk. Approximately 10.6 percent of all Mexican Americans (1.2 million) have diabetes. Mexican Americans are 1.9 times more likely to have diabetes than non-Hispanic whites. Other Hispanic/Latino Americans are twice as likely to have diabetes than non-Hispanic whites. A study conducted in Mexico City found that subjects living in the city for ten years or more were exposed permanently to air pollution which developed deficient antioxidant capacity to oxidative stress. All of the stress factors mentioned including obesity, diabetes, and pollution create a build up of isoprostanes, and high levels of isoprostanes can result in oxidative stress. Isoprostanes are byproducts of oxidation from free radicals, the same process that makes a piece of apple subjected to air turn brown and go rancid. High isoprostane levels cause higher levels of oxidative stress. There is a correlative relationship between the level of isoprostanes in your system and the level of oxidative stress. In the 17 years since isoprostanes were discovered in 1990, nearly 1,500 studies have been conducted on them. Measuring isoprostane levels is now accepted among scientists as the definitive way to assess oxidative stress.

MeridiumXN(TM) is the first product to make xanthohumol bioavailable. Xanthohumol, a patented extract from the hops flower, in its natural state is difficult to absorb, due to its poor solubility in the gastro-intestinal tract.
