CSUS Peace March, Rally, 'Die-In' Thursday Part of Part of National Actions
CSUS students, faculty and area anti-war organizations - including Iraq and other war veterans, and families with loved ones fighting in Iraq - will participate in a major anti-war march and rally > here Thursday as part of national demonstrations against the war this coming weekend.
The protest begins at 11:30 Thursday at the CSUS Library Quad with a massive "Die-In." The rally begins at 12 Noon at Serna Plaza and there will be a drum-led march around the entire campus about 3 p.m.
Campus Progressive Alliance and M.E.C.H.A., organizers of the peace rally, said the action will illustrate the stand of CSUS students, who oppose the war, and actions to bring the troops home immediately.
Speakers include veterans, mothers of troops in Iraq now, CSUS and law school professors and others.
Supporting groups include CSUS-California Faculty Association, Sacramento Area Peace Action, Student Peace Action Network, Sacramento Green Party, Vets for Peace, Peace and Freedom Party, Counter Recruitment Group, Military Families Speak Out.
