Work Starts at Sutter and Scott in Folsom Historic District

After a false start prior to Summer 2005, work on the large block at the corner of Sutter and Scott streets in Historic Folsom has commenced.
On October 2, 2007, the trees and bushes along the Sutter Street side of the property were removed and the very tall tree at the back of the property had some limbs removed. That tree was completely gone by the end of the next day.
Sixteen days later, on the 18th, I talked to Paul Dixon, who was installing a water barrier around the site. He said the power pole in the back corner of the block has to be removed. It is right on the corner of the block and all the services will be going underground.

According to Paul Dixon, one of the the next steps is to remove the mound of soil and rock at the corner of Sutter and Scott.
It is great to see progress, one of the things really needed to breathe new life into the 600 block. Doug Scalzi and Vinal Perkins must be pleased.
