  Share With Friends

Digital Audiobooks, e-Books, Music, and Videos Available 24/7

Download audiobooks, e-Books, music, and videos are now available to Jefferson Parish Library customers by visiting the library's website, www.jefferson.lib.la.us. To access the e-Media catalog, users can click on the "Download Digital Media" icon and download the free software.

Customers with a valid Jefferson Parish Library card can check out and download digital titles from the e-Media Catalog, which is accessible 24/7 from anywhere in the world. After download, users can transfer titles to dozens of compatible portable devices, and many titles can also be burned to CD to enjoy on the go.

"Our books on tape and CD are extremely popular, and our staff is excited that we now provide books, music, and video for download," said Lon Dickerson, Jefferson Parish Library Director. "Being able to download titles 24/7 and eliminating the hassle of returning them to the library makes it even easier for some people to use our resources," he added.

The dynamic collection includes a wide array of titles from authors such as Jane Austen, John Grisham, and Judy Blume. Customers will find classics like "1984" by George Orwell and best-selling titles including "What the Dead Know" by Laura Lippman and "The Jane Austen Book Club" by Karen Joy Fowler, now a major motion picture.

Audiobooks, e-Books, and music have a 21-day lending period, while video titles are checked out for seven days. The digital titles expire automatically at the end of the lending period, so customers never have to worry about overdue items.

The technology and content is provided by OverDrive, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio. To access the e-Media Catalog, visit www.jefferson.lib.la.us and click on the "Download Digital Media" icon to try this easy to use service today.
