Avenged Sevenfold Launch Contest Where Fans Create Guitar Solo for Band's New Single "Almost Easy"
Best Soloist Will Win Special Schecter Guitar Autographed by the Band, Plus a Pair of Tickets and Backstage Passes to an Upcoming Show
Avenged Sevenfold, in conjunction with Warner
Bros. Records and Schecter Guitar Research, are launching a contest that
gives fans the opportunity to create a guitar solo for "Almost Easy," the
new single from Avenged's upcoming self-titled album, which will be
available for pre-order at the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com) on October
16th and released by Warner Bros. Records on October 30th.
Those who pre-order the album starting October 16th or buy the album at the
iTunes Store after October 30th, will also receive a bonus track -- a
"jam-along" version of "Almost Easy" that has guitarist Synyster Gates'
guitar solo omitted. Contestants can crank out their own solo and upload
the footage to YouTube at www.avengedsevenfold.com/almosteasycontest. Gates
will judge whose solo is the best and the winner will receive a Synyster
Gates Signature Model guitar from Schecter Guitar Research, autographed by
the band, plus a pair of tickets to an upcoming show where they will meet
Avenged Sevenfold.
All contestants must upload their entries to YouTube by November 30th. The
winner will be announced on December 17th. Please visit
www.avengedsevenfold.com/almosteasycontest for official rules and more
details.
MTV Video Music Award winners in 2006 for "Best New Artist," Avenged
Sevenfold -- frontman M. Shadows, guitarists Gates and Zacky Vengeance,
bassist Johnny Christ, and drummer The Rev -- will hit the road for a U.S.
tour kicking off on October 29th. Their new album, the Huntington Beach, CA
quintet's fourth, is the follow-up to 2006's "City of Evil," which spawned
three hit singles including the Modern Rock smash "Bat Country."
