eCopy(TM) Document Imaging Software Now Available for Océ MFP Customers
New Distribution Partnership Brings eCopy Document Imaging Software's Ease of Use, Security and Application Connector Portfolio to the Océ(R) MFP Platform

eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions
that integrate paper documents into business software applications, and
Océ, a global leader in digital document management and delivery, today
announced an agreement enabling Océ North America's Corporate Printing
Division to become a reseller of eCopy document imaging software. Océ will now offer
eCopy ShareScan® software, allowing users to scan paper-based information
easily and securely from an Océ multifunction peripheral (MFP) into any
electronic workflow.
In addition to an extensive line of MFP offerings, Océ customers now will
have access to the market's largest library of application Connectors, enabling organizations to scan documents
directly from an Océ MFP to more than 75 enterprise business applications
such as EMC Documentum Content Server, Captaris RightFax, FileNet,
Interwoven, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Outlook/Exchange.
"The need to move paper-based information quickly and easily into business
workflows has become imperative for organizations looking to keep pace with
e-business processes," said Tim Durant, General Manager at eCopy. "Océ has
a strong reputation for providing document solutions tailored to specific
customer requirements. Working with eCopy expands their ability to
integrate scanning with the specific applications that are critical to
their customers' electronic workflows."
eCopy ShareScan
is available to Océ customers as an integral part of eCopy ScanStation,
which includes an ergonomically designed touch screen and keyboard that are
easily connected to Océ MFPs. eCopy ScanStation will be immediately
available as an option on the Océ cm2520, cm3521, cm4520, im6020 and im7520
models. Support for the im2330, im2830, im3530, im4530, im5530, im6030,
im7230 and im8530 models is scheduled for late first quarter or early
second quarter of next year.
To safeguard documents that are scanned using Océ devices, eCopy provides a
range of security features. eCopy's document audit trail capabilities log
the documents scanned, which users scanned the documents, when they were
scanned and to whom they were distributed. For Department of Defense
agencies, eCopy supports MFP scanning access using Common Access Cards
(CACs), which enable users to identify themselves to network applications
while they are at the Océ MFP and then be granted the ability to scan
documents.
"As a result of our best of breed strategy, in which we work with top MFP
manufacturers to obtain the best products possible, we are able to deliver
digital document solutions designed to meet our customers' individual
needs," said John Reilly, Vice President Product Development, Product
Marketing and BPC Operations, Océ North America, Corporate Printing
Division. "By adding eCopy's market-leading document imaging software to
our portfolio, we deliver a complete solution which helps companies empower
document owners through the best products available. The combination of
eCopy and our MFPs allow users to securely scan documents themselves and
have real-time integration to business applications so scanned information
is immediately available for business workflows."
eCopy ShareScan, which won this year's "Best MFP Workflow Software
Solution" award from market researcher BERTL, ships with a 10 user license
of eCopy
Desktop, PC software that enables users to proficiently capture, edit,
share and store scanned documents in PDF form. Through an easy-to-use
interface, eCopy Desktop offers advanced editing tools that include the
ability to combine documents from both paper and digital sources.
