  Share With Friends

Smithfield Foods (www.smithfieldfoods.com) Tar Heel, Kinston, Clinton and Romania processing plants are now using TabWare EFx from AssetPoint (www.assetpoint.com) as their CMMS/EAM software for maintaining their manufacturing operations. Live use of the TabWare EFx product commenced over the past few months with work orders, spare parts inventory, requisitioning and purchasing in a total integrated maintenance, inventory and procurement suite interfaced with their existing financial software package.

Located in North Carolina, Smithfield Foods' Tar Heel plant is one of the largest pork processing plants in North America; the Kinston plant is the most modern, efficient cooked-ham plant in the United States and the Clinton plant produces smoked hams, sliced and microwave cooked bacon, and sausage. The Romanian plant produces fresh pork for retail customers in Europe.

A series of successful acquisitions largely over the past decade has transformed Smithfield Foods into a global food company with revenues approaching $12 billion.

"Implementation of TabWare in these impressive Smithfield Foods plants further solidifies our position as a top supplier of maintenance, inventory and purchasing software to the food & beverage industry," said Vince Carrozzi, Managing Partner at AssetPoint. "Our expanding footprint in this industry is due to our outstanding customer service, certified software products, certified professionals and proven methodology."
