Teche Holding Company Announces Election of Ernest Freyou and Robert L. Wolfe, Jr. to Board Of Directors

The Board of Directors of Teche Holding Company (AMEX: TSH), holding company of Teche Federal Bank, elected Ernest Freyou and Robert L. Wolfe, Jr. to the Board of Directors at the monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 19, 2007. Mr. Freyou and Mr. Wolfe were each previously elected and presently serve on the board of Directors of Teche Federal Bank.

"We are proud to have Mr. Freyou and Mr. Wolfe join us on the Board of Directors for Teche Holding Company," said Patrick Little, President and CEO of Teche Federal Bank. "Each of these gentlemen bring many years of business and banking experience to our organization."

Mr. Freyou joins Teche from Regions Bank where he was President of Regions Bank of Acadiana until his retirement in January 2005. Before the merger with Regions Bank, Mr. Freyou served as President and CEO of New Iberia Bank (the renamed New Iberia National Bank). Mr. Freyou also served for three years as the Director of the National Bank for Cooperatives (Co-Bank), a farm credit bank, in Denver, Colorado.

Prior to his career in banking, Mr. Freyou served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Iberia Parish Police Jury where he retired following 20 years of service. Mr. Freyou has also thrown his hat into the Iberia Parish political ring and is currently running for Parish President of Iberia Parish.

Mr. Wolfe previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Opelousas. After the merger between First Federal And Teche Federal in 2004, Mr. Wolfe served as a member of the St. Landry Advisory Board of Teche. Mr. Wolfe is presently co-owner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Goudeau & Associates, Inc., an Engineering and Land Surveying Firm located in Opelousas.

Mr. Wolfe is currently Engineer for the City of Opelousas, Town of Arnaudville, Town of Port Barre, Village of Cankton and the St. Landry Parish Government. He is a past member of the Opelousas Industrial Development Corporation and on the Building Appeals Board for the City of Opelousas.

Mr. Wolfe is a member of the Louisiana Engineering Society, Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors, American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Water Works Association.

Teche Federal presently operates twenty offices in the Louisiana parishes of St. Mary, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Landry, East Baton Rouge and Ascension. The Company's common stock is listed as Teche Holding Company and is traded under the symbol "TSH" on the American Stock Exchange. The bank's website address is www.teche.com. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures deposits at Teche Federal Bank up to the legal maximum limits.
