Dynamsoft SourceAnywhere for VSS 5.2 Enhances SourceSafe Remote Access Performance and Security

New Affordable Version Allows All Sizes of SourceSafe Development Teams to Overcome Remote Development Challenges

Dynamsoft Corporation today announced the release of SourceAnywhere for VSS 5.2, a remote access add-on tool for Microsoft® Visual SourceSafe (VSS). This new version greatly improves performance allowing software developers to access VSS over the Internet faster than ever.

Businesses with teams of software developers working remotely using VSS are searching for ways to increase performance and improve productivity. These development teams often experience slow remote code access as well as security vulnerabilities when using VSS alone to share entire database folders.

SourceAnywhere for VSS uses Delta transfer and many other technologies to dramatically increase VSS access speeds. SourceAnywhere for VSS protects the SourceSafe database by eliminating the need to expose the file system to Internet. Other features, such as 128-bit SSL and Blowfish encryption and password policy also serve to enhance software security.

Enhanced features such as the cache server are designed to reduce the bandwidth strain on the central code repository. By caching previously requested files, the cache server significantly reduces the number of files to be transferred over the web and improves remote access performance.
