A high-energy evening of non-stop music in historic Folsom takes place Saturday, September 29 as Folsom LIVE! with tributes to such rock legends as Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd and KISS. Also appearing is classic rock icon Billy Richards' Coasters, in addition to last year's favorite, Fun, Fun, Fun, a fun-filled show featuring tributes to The Beach Boys, Monkees and Beatles.
With more than 10 venues along the three-block stretch of historic Sutter Street, the event features bands with styles of music ranging from rock and roll to country.
Other top entertainers include the include Dave Russell Band, Devius Gruve, On Call, Loose Change, Twanna Turner and Blutopia, The Detours, Glass House and Shameus.
Billy Richards has been a part of the Coasters since 1962 when he joined forces with the original bass singer of the Coasters, Bobby Nunn. The group has made numerous TV appearances from the early years on Dick Clark's "American Bandstand" to many national TV commercials. Coasters hits include "Poison Ivy," "What About Us," and "That is Rock and Roll."
Returning to Folsom LIVE! this year is Fun, Fun Fun Show, which offers tributes such as "The Beach Toys," a tribute to the Beach Boys; "Paperback Writer," the Beatles experience and "Pleasant Valley Sunday," a musical comedy tribute to the Monkees.
Rusty Evans and his "Ring of Fire" brings the music and spirit of Johnny Cash alive with such songs as "I Walk the Line," "Folsom Prison Blues," A Boy Named Sue," and "Big River." From Nashville to San Francisco, his tribute to the "man in black" has been wowing audiences with its stunning tribute.
For KISS fans, the KISS Army promises an authentic tribute from the group's hard rock anthems and guitar-powered ballads to the outrageous costumes. As a tribute band, KISS Army offers many of the original band's mega hits including "Stutter," "Rock Bottom," "Black Diamond," and "Rock and Roll All Nite."
Nuthin' Fancy offers a meticulous tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd mastering every detail from the band's clothing to its piano and guitar solos. The band performs all of Skynyrd's hits including "Sweet Home Alabama," "Gimme Three Steps," "What's Your Name," and Ronnie Van Zant's timeless classic "Freebird."
All Folsom LIVE ticket holders can take advantage of complimentary light rail fare to and from the event from any of the stations including Sacramento. The last train leaves historic Folsom at 11:30 p.m.
