Crossfire War - Tehran - Beirut - Damascus Watch - West Asia - North - Northeast Africa Theatre: Tehran - Damascus - Riyadh - Ankara - Amman - Tripoli - Baghdad - Khartoum - Beirut/Jerusalem - Cairo - Paris - Rome - London - Washington; "This is the Beginning of the Syria-Israel Conflict" - Lebanese Columnist - Israel Minister Admits Israel Aircraft Fly Over Syria Daily - Lebanon Now Complaining of Violations of its Air Space by Israel

Night Watch: KAFR KALA - "This is the beginning of a Syrian-Israeli conflict." That is the observation of Sateh Noureddine a Lebanese columnist for the paper as-Safir. He added it is a follow up to last year's war in south Lebanon between Hezbollah/Israel during which a lot of Lebanon's road and bridge infrastructure was heavily damaged and a lot of Lebanese civilians were killed. Reuters reports the Arab League has also issued a statement critical of Israel and its "unacceptable manoeuvers". [SWISSINFO]

Xinhua reports Ghaleb Majadle, the Israel Science, Culture and Sports Minister stated, in the Nazareth based paper A-Sinara, Israeli aircraft routinely enter Syria air space on a daily basis to take photographs. If that is the case and it probably is, then Damascus now complaining of the flights and warning it will respond means Syria is ready for its next war with Israel and with Tehran-Beirut-Hezbollah ready to join it.

It will actually be an expansion of the war against Israel this year which began in late winter in the West Bank - Gaza as Hamas and other extreme Islamic groups like Jihad Islami have had almost daily firefights with Israeli units especially in Gaza and continue the Qassam rocket barrages from Gaza into Israel.

On March 13 crossfirewar.com reported the rocket fire by the group Islamic Jihad from its armed wing al-Quds Brigade. The day before crossfirewar.com had reported Syria's arms build up on Israel's border. [XINHUA]

Tehran then stated not long afterward it had a "Countdown" for war with Israel, knowing it would be used to inspire more Islamic radicalism which will be used to remove the last head of state who still maintains close military relations with the West, Egypt President Hosni Mubarak. His predecessor, Anwar al-Sadat, was assassinated in 1981 by Islamic radicals just two years after the Islamic revolution in Iran led by the Ayatollah Khomeini. The assassin cited Khomeini as their inspiration and Tehran named a street after the assassin.

Tehran caused the fighting in northern Lebanon May 20 at Nahr al-Bared by the suicide unit Fatah al-Islam to convince the rest of Lebanon's army to support the political opposition and this year's war against Israel. It has neutralized Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and as Syria congratulated Lebanon on its victory over Fatah, al-Islam stated Lebanon can now turn its attention to its main enemy Israel.

Beirut has now begun to do so because it has finally begun to complain about Israel's surveillance flights monitoring Hezbollah's rearming, which Hezbollah had begun to do right after last year's war ended in mid-August. Today the Lebanese army said two aircraft from Israel's air force flew over Kafr Kala in the south then north to Shaka and from there to the Mediterranean. Beirut has in effect announced its intention to actively support and join this year's war with Israel knowing it will trap the 12,000 European units in UNIFIL in the regional crossfire. [XINHUA]
