New website provides pet owners with safety and nutritional information on dog food, cat food, treats, toys and pet supplies.
Announcing an online consumer website dedicated solely to pet owners. Petsumer Report Online™ provides reviews and ratings of pet foods, pet treats, and soon various other pet supplies. Pet owners can quickly scan product listings to learn if ingredients are from US sources or from outside the US, human grade/quality ingredients or lesser quality pet grade/quality ingredients, if the product contains any potentially dangerous ingredients (known as red flag ingredients examples being by-products and chemical preservatives such as BHA/BHT and ethoxyquin), and are rated from 'No Score' to the highest '5 Paw Print' score.
Even before the giant pet food recall natural, healthier pet foods and treats is the growing trend. The problem for pet owners has been separating the advertising/marketing information from the real thing. Petsumer Report Online™ currently has over 200 pet product reviews on the site with an average of 50 new product reviews added each month. Yearly subscription is $15.37.
Publisher Susan Thixton has been educating pet owners to the dangers of some commercial foods, treats, and toys for years. "Fifteen years ago I lost an eight year old dog to bone cancer that my vet told me was probably due to chemical preservatives in her food. From that day on I've been studying the pet food industry and trying to educate pet owners to the dangers - no one should ever lose a pet because of a bad food or treat" says Susan Thixton. Petsumer Report Online was developed from the requests of pet owners - during dozens of radio interviews, every single show pet owners call in and ask about the quality of their particular brand of food or treat. Pet owners want to know if the food is human quality ingredients and if anything comes from China. Pet food manufacturers do not tell them - Petsumer Report™ does.
Petsumer Report Online™ was developed in May 2007 to provide pet owners with quality and safety information on pet foods, treats, toys, and supplies. TruthAboutPetFood.com hosts the online magazine and provides pet owners with a library of free health and safety articles and a free newsletter.
