Crossfire War – Iran – Smuggled 40 Tons of Weapons to Hamas through Sinai

Crossfire War – Tehran – Sinai – Gaza Watch – West Asia Theatre: Tehran – Damascus – Riyadh – Tripoli – Khartoum – Sinai – Gaza – Ramallah/Cairo – Jeruslaem; Circumventing Mubarak – Iran Through Egyptian Contacts Ship 40 Tons of Weapons – Explosives from Sinai to Gaza in Past Two Months

Night Watch: SINAI – AFP quoted the Israel Public Security Minister, Avi Dichter, concerning the massive arms trafficking from Egypt through Sinai into Gaza, “The Egyptians can take immediate and decisive steps to stop it but they haven’t done this over the past seven years.”

The reason why Egypt President Hosni Mubarak has not done so is that obviously, for the past seven years at least, his government has been operating under divided loyalties. Some in Egyptian security are being directed by Tehran to ship arms to Hamas and other Palestinian extremist organizations through Sinai.

If Mubarak attempted to stop it he could be assassinated as was his predecessor Anwar al-Sadat in 1981 just two years after the Islamic Revolution in Iran led by the Ayatollah Khhomeini in 1979. Tehran named a street after the Egyptian Army Lieutenant who led the assassination. [Gulf-Times]

In no way do these arms shipments strengthen Mubarak’s position and he is aware Islamic radicalism will reach a fever pitch when Damascus-Tehran commit ground forces against Israel amidst all the spectacular, mesmerizing publicity, as Iranian units, the brigade size Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) march shoulder to shoulder with Palestinian groups, and report they are advancing toward Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem perhaps even within sight of it.

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt will publicly call for Mubarak to do the same and it will have massive public support, forcing Mubarak to institute desperate draconian measures to maintain control as he declares war on Iran and have the units loyal to him attack the Iranian forces in the immediate area, within range of Egypt’s air force which he used to lead. But when that happens Tehran and the Jihad will concentrate on removing Mubarak and he is surrounded by governments that support the Jihad – Tripoli and Khartoum.

According to Israeli intelligence sources in the past two months 40 tons of weapons and explosives arrived in Gaza through Egypt-Sinai. Mubarak’s position is nearly as tenuous as the former head of state of Lebanon Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. Siniora is still Prime Minister but not really ruling which is similar to the President of Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas. Abbas is a head of state but has no real authority and working with Tehran – Hamas behind the scenes as does Iraq Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad.

Mubarak still has some military support but it will be defeated and Cairo will experience the looting of its national treasures as did Baghdad with the overthrow of Saddam.
