Ontario Energy Association (OEA) Conference to Focus on Key 'Impact Issues' in Ontario's Energy Sector

TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwire - Aug. 27, 2007) - The Ontario Energy Association's 2007 Annual General Meeting and Conference - scheduled for September 5th and 6th at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel and Conference Centre in Niagara Falls - will feature keynote addresses by Federal Liberal Leader and Leader of the Official Opposition Stephane Dion, and National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Phil Fontaine. It will also include three main plenary sessions where 20 senior industry leaders and decision-makers will discuss: Business, Environmental and Other Policy Issues Impacting Ontario's Energy Sector; Regulatory Issues; and Energy Planning, the Need for New Infrastructure and Next Steps.

The conference officially begins on September 5th with the OEA's Annual Awards inner - where the prestigious OEA Leader of the Year and OEA Company of the Year awards will be announced and presented.

"The OEA's Leader of the Year and Company of the Year recipients have come to symbolize excellence in corporate leadership, an ongoing commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, and the highest standards in operational performance," said Brian Tobin, Chair of the OEA's Annual Awards Selection Committee. "This year's nominees are all outstanding. They serve to remind us of the tremendous progress we have made, and continue to make, in building and maintaining an energy infrastructure to support Ontario's future needs and priorities."

"From the Annual Awards Dinner through to the various speakers and panelists we are fortunate to have with us this year, including our very special guests Phil Fontaine and Stephane Dion, it should be a great program all round," said OEA President and CEO Shane Pospisil. "That's what this conference is all about, the opportunity to come together and exchange views and perspectives - and hopefully, advance our collective understanding - on some of the fundamental energy-related issues of the day."

OEA members together employ about 32,000 Ontarians and last year accounted for about $34 billion in market revenues.
