Gulf Coast Recovery is Moving in Slow Motion. It's Time to Speed It Up!
Post hurricane life today is a stark contrast to the promise made by President Bush on Sept. 15, 2005.
"Americans want the Gulf Coast not just to survive, but to thrive; not just to cope, but to overcome," President Bush said. "We want evacuees to come home, for the best of reasons - because they have a real chance at a better life in a place they love."
Now, the 2008 presidential candidates have a renewed chance to bring the Gulf Coast the help it needs! Sign today >>

Perhaps the biggest challenge confronts those still in trailers and FEMA apartments. Most rental homes have not been rebuilt and those that have are much more expensive. Many government provided trailers are far away from resident's previous homes and job opportunities are scarce. A large number of those living in government trailers are elderly or disabled, employed at low-wage jobs or still searching for work.
Rebuilding plans must be outlined for the southern states - before the next election. Join me in asking the 2008 presidential candidates to issue their agenda explaining how they would make the full recovery of the hurricane-devastated region into a reality! Take action >>
