AgPR - Great Plains - The Camelina Company (www.camelinacompany.com) announces it has entered into a strategic partnership with chemicals major INEOS Enterprises (www.ineosenterprises.com) for the purpose of producing camelina, an exciting new non-food oilseed crop whose oil is used in alternative fuels.

Great Plains - The Camelina Company - is the world leader in the science and agronomics of camelina, possessing strengths in molecular breeding and genomics as well as logistical systems designed specifically for camelina. The Company has pioneered the use of camelina as a key raw material in the production of biodiesel and is dedicated to the improvement of its fuel characteristics. Its downstream capabilities include refining, distribution, and marketing.

INEOS Enterprises is part of INEOS, a leading global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products with multi-faceted operations in the United States, Europe and Asia with annual sales of $36 billion dollars. As previously announced, INEOS Enterprises is on track to play a leading role in the alternative energy sector and will be the largest producer of biofuels in Europe, with production scheduled to be over 350 million gallons by 2010.

The initial operations of the partnership have already commenced in Montana, Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Great Plain's development of its own crushing operations, with equipment tailored for Camelina and located near prime growing regions is well underway. Expansion of the growing and production program will vitally contribute to the availability of alternative fuels in North America.

"We are very excited by the prospects for Great Plains camelina in applications for alternative fuels such as biodiesel. Having a partner like INEOS Enterprises allows us to significantly accelerate our development programs to establish camelina as a truly sustainable fuel crop," said Sam Huttenbauer, President of Great Plains.

Dr. Harry Deans, CEO INEOS Enterprises adds: "This is a perfect fit with our ongoing expansion program in biodiesel. Camelina is a highly sustainable raw material that provides us with a platform for further development in this very important area, particularly in the North American market."

Through this partnership Great Plains and INEOS Enterprises share a common vision of developing their respective leading positions in biodiesel while providing agricultural communities with a new and sustainable crop alternative. Further, they believe their efforts will allow farmers of the high plains, the Northwest, and Canada the opportunity to participate in the biofuels revolution.
