Aug. 22: The Monkee's Davy Jones, Singer/Songwriter Kevin Chalfant and NBC 5 Broadcasters Drive Support to the Greens in Philanthropic Golf Outing and Concert Event
Celebrity raffle and auction winners play golf with the stars; landing a hole-in-one may put one lucky golfer behind the wheel of a Lexus or Hummer.
CHICAGO (EWORLDWIRE) Aug 9, 2007
For fans of The Monkee's, a chance to meet Davy Jones is priceless in itself, so to participate in a golfing event that presents a chance to join him for a full day of driving on the greens creates an unparalleled once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and experience.
Chicago-area residents will convene at The Sum Of Hope's Benefit Series at White Pines Golf Club in Bensenville, Ill. on August 22, where they will be joined by among others:
. Davy Jones - best known as singer and star of The Monkee's, one of the most recognized icons of television, music and stage
. Kevin Chalfant - Shooting Star, The Storm, Jim Peterik & World Stage, Two Fires and 707
. Anna Davlantes, NBC 5 Chicago
. Kim Vatis, NBC 5 Chicago
. Cara Carriveu, Chicago Radio 101.9 The Mix
While having fun and raising funds during the day-long event, everyone who attends will be vying for door and raffle prizes donated by local businesses and friends. Activities such as a noon shotgun scramble and best ball format will be followed by dinner and award ceremonies, and topped off with an end of day concert showcase featuring singer/songwriter Kevin Chalfant.
The outing, inspired by an episode of the Oprah Winfrey show on helping others, brings together entertainment industry and personal friends plus other area residents including organizer, long-time Chicago-area resident and Tantra Tour and Concert Sound Principal Bob Bornack to raise money for Linda Hoffmann and her family. Hoffmann - mother, wife and best friend - spent more than 25 years of her life caring for patients as an E.R. nurse at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill. She is now receiving care from others as the degenerative impact of Lou Gehrig's Disease - for which there is no cure - attacks her very own body.
A comprehensive range of package options are available: golf only, dinner and entertainment only or complete full access to golf facilities, lunch, dinner, open bar, live entertainment and more. The deadline for signup is August 13, 2007.
Sponsorships are still available, and gifts offered for door and raffle prizes will be accepted through August 21.
