August 22, Celebrities and Chicago Community Residents to Rally Round Linda Hoffmann, Lou Gehrig's Disease Victim, with Golf Outing and Concert Event, Courtesy of Tantra Tour and Concert Sound

The Sum Of Hope's Benefit Series Covers the Greens and the Music Scene for Linda's Family at White Pines Golf Club inBensenville, Ill.

BENSENVILLE, Ill. (EWORLDWIRE) Aug 9, 2007

The tables have been turned on a woman - mother, wife and best friend - who spent more than 25 years of her life caring for patients as an E.R. nurse at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill. Linda Hoffmann is now receiving care from others in the area as the degenerative impact of what is most commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease attacks her very own body. While the phrase "Lou Gehrig's Disease" may be a household phrase, most people don't understand the severity of the condition: there is no cure.

Long-time Chicago-area resident and Tantra Tour and Concert Sound Principal Bob Bornack is taking to the tees and greens - along with his personal and entertainment industry friends plus other area residents, for a full day of fun and fundraising, followed by an end of day concert showcase featuring singer/songwriter Kevin Chalfant.

One has only to hear that an icon of television, music and stage, Davy Jones (best known as singer and star of The Monkee's) and Kevin Chalfant (Shooting Star, The Storm, Jim Peterik & World Stage, Two Fires and 707), among others, are participating to recognize the significance of the event - and to understand the efforts extended by organizer Bornack to draw attention to the gala and support for Hoffmann.

The event will also include appearances from NBC 5 Chicago's Anna Davlantes, NBC 5 Chicago's Kim Vatis and Cara Carriveu from Chicago Radio Station 101.9 The Mix, among others, who will try their luck at golf and participate in award ceremonies.

The day's itinerary is scheduled to include:

10:00 a.m. Practice Driving Range
11:00 a.m. Sign In, Team Assignments and Celebrity Raffle & Auction To See Who Plays Golf With The Stars
Noon Shotgun Scramble / Best Ball Format
5:30 Cocktails
6:30 Dinner and Awards Presentation
7:30 Entertainment Begins and Two-hour Open Bar

The event also includes door and raffle prizes donated by friends and local businesses, as well as other specialty auctions.

Full access to golf facilities, lunch, dinner, open bar, live entertainment and more is offered.

Various contests will be held throughout the day offering a range of incentives and prizes. One lucky golfer may take home a Lexus or Hummer.

To obtain a registration form, or to learn about sponsorship or to make a donation, contact Bob Bornack at 630.400.5151 or download at 'http://www.tantrasound.com/invitation.pdf'. Those interested in making reservations should do so now to secure their spots before the event is sold out. Golf only, dinner and entertainment only or complete package options are currently available. The deadline for signup is August 13, 2007.

Sponsors, supporters and brands of the day-long fun-in-the-sun meet-and-greet currently include the Holiday Inn-Elmhurst, NBC5 Chicago (WMAQ), MB Financial Bank, Golfsmith, White Pines Golf Course, Champps Americana, The Yard House Restaurant, WIIL 95.1 FM, Callaway Golf, Christy's Restaurant, Vroom Car Care, Red Star Restaurant, Clique Records, Bellevue Suite, Best Buy, The Village Tavern & Grill, Tantra Sports Apparel, The Morton Arboretum, American Mobile Staging, Howl At The Moon Chicago, North Beach Downers Grove, The Sign Authority, The Z Plane, Media Mind Broadcasting, Inspection Solutions, Legendas Music Cafe and Advantage Golf of West Chicago.

Those who can't make the event but wish to contribute can do so by sending a donation to Linda Hoffmann C/O Robert Bornack at 177 S. Barron St. Bensenville, IL 60106.

Sponsorships are still available, and gifts offered for door and raffle prizes will be accepted through August 21 and can be sent to the same address.
