L.A. Marketing Plans LLC New Office to Target the Millions of Uninsured Hispanic Americans

wholly-owned subsidiary, L.A. Marketing Plans, LLC, recently launched a new
Call Center in the Dominican Republic. This Call Center will market and
sell the RightHealth programs to consumers throughout the United States.
There will be a concentration on the Hispanic market as this Call Center
has developed several, unique marketing strategies including the use of
various commercials to be aired throughout all Hispanic markets during the
next year.
Almost one-third of all Hispanics and one-fifth of all African-Americans in
the United States had no health insurance in early 1998, compared with 12.2
percent of Caucasians. Additionally, African-Americans were the most
likely to be covered by public insurance, while Caucasians were the most
likely to maintain private insurance coverage. The total number of
Americans without health insurance was 42.3 million, or 15.8 percent of the
population; these estimates are from the Agency for Healthcare Research and
Quality's 1998 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) and in an August 2,
2000, press release from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality of
Rockville, MD, "Hispanic and Black Americans [are] still more likely than
Whites to be uninsured." Additionally, according to Elena Rios, MD, MSPH
President & CEO, National Hispanic Medical Association, in the last decade,
the number of uninsured Hispanics has increased from 7.4 million to 12.8
million.
