Hizbul IED Expert Arrested, 20 kgs RDX Seized: Indian Police

Police in troubled Kashmir today claimed they achieved a major breakthrough by arresting an explosives expert of pro-Pakistan based militant group, Hizbul Mujahideen from South Kashmir.

Srinagar Police claimed that officers succeeded in arresting Hizbul Mujahideen IED expert, Mubariq Ahmad Ganie alias Major Saqib from South Kashmir. Stating that he was a Pakistani trained militant, a police officer said that he was an IED expert for the militant group and was responsible for car explosions in South Kashmir.

“Police recovered one Pika gun, 200 Pika rounds, ten UBGL grenades, five detonators, one IED, 20 liters of picric acid and 20 Kgs of RDX from his possession,” the police officer further said.

The police officer said that after his arrest, a Hizb module working under him was busted. Four persons, who were working for him, were arrested. He identified them as Ali Mohammad Ganie, Reyaz Ahmad Ganie, Altaf Ahmad Ganie and Firdous Ahmad Dar.
