The Company Mission -- Racing to Save Pets! Driver Brett Thompson of the Pets Best #61 NASCAR Grand National Racecar, and His Shelter Dog Bowdy, Are Helping Build Awareness on the Track and in Communities Across the Nation

Early this Saturday morning Brett Thompson and his dog Bowdy will jump into their tractor trailer with #61 Pets Best Grand National Racecar and head west. They will not be heading for a racetrack, but rather a new state-of-the-art veterinary hospital in Meridian, ID that provides cancer treatments for pets.

Pets Best Insurance "ShelterBest(TM) Racing To Save Pets!" combines NASCAR racing, brand marketing and community relations outreach with a hefty goal of raising awareness for pet insurance and over one million dollars for pet shelters nationwide.

"We are very pleased to have Brett Thompson and Bowdy on our team. We are leading in the race to raise awareness for pet insurance and helping shelters across the nation. It creates a fun platform for Pets Best to reach out and recognize many humane animal shelters and their teams with contests, race tickets, hospitality and fun," said Jack Stephens, DVM, president of Pets Best Insurance.

NASCAR is the #1 spectator sport -- holding 17 of the top 20 attended sporting events in the U.S., the #2 rated regular-season sport on television with broadcasts in over 150 countries, and 75 million fans that purchase over $2 billion in annual licensed product sales. These fans are the most brand loyal in all of sports and, as result, more Fortune 500 companies participate in NASCAR than any other sport.

"We have been a little surprised with the power of Brett Thompson and NASCAR. The willingness of race fans to come out and visit and the desire for shelters, clinics and veterinary hospitals to have Brett, Bowdy and the #61 Pets Best Racecar for special events is very strong," continued Stephens.

This weekend is a great example: a lot of efforts and millions of dollars have been invested to create an excellent, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital called All Valley Animal Care Center. The center will provide complete comprehensive care as well as life-saving oncology treatments: MRI, Ultrasound, and CAT Scans to diagnose and a linear accelerator for the treatment of cancer. When asked what Pets Best could do to help, the hospital said they wanted Brett, Bowdy and the Pets Best #61 Racecar.

According to hospital spokesperson Irene Kimmel, "Pets Best and their racing program have helped to announce the opening and communicate to a much larger audience. We took out half-page ads about Brett, Bowdy and the Pets Best racecar being on-site for the grand opening. We thought it would be a nice addition for families with children. We have been surprised at the huge response and lots of calls and hundreds of visits to our website requesting more information."

Brett Thompson expressed the satisfaction of the racing team. "It has been really positive to work with Pets Best and have them as one of our sponsors. They work very hard on supporting veterinary medicine and shelters around the country. For our team we feel that we are making a difference on and off the track. It is a good feeling to be involved," he said.
