SAN DIEGO, Calif. - July 18 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Tired of the bar scene? Not crazy about chatting online with people you don't know? FunQuest Adventures provides an alternative to the typical dating scene and offers active singles a fun and safe way to meet people.

(c) Send2PressInternet dating is big business, but with so many predators out there people are becoming more concerned about safety. FunQuest Adventures brings back old-fashioned fun and face-to-face meetings which prove to be more effective and safe.

"While no one can guarantee safety," Daniel Halbert, President of FunQuest Adventures, explained, "background checks, in-person meetings, and hosted group events enhance the safety of members."

There are two ways to join: Sponsorship by a current member; or an initial meeting with a FunQuest membership counselor. Potential members also agree to a thorough background check through www.SafeDate.com.

Most clients are people fresh out of long-term relationships. Others are new to the area with a desire to meet people with similar interests. Some simply wish to expand their social network and have found that the Internet leads to dead ends.

"Our action-packed activity calendar offers something for everyone," Halbert, said.

Over 20 events are held each month. They range from dinners and wine tastings to hiking excursions, snorkeling with Leopard Sharks, cruises, and more. All events are led by professional event leaders to make sure fun is had by all.

And, Halbert is no stranger to the dating scene. He started his first business venture in Arizona - www.Adventures2000.net - and continues to act as a consultant.

"I was so pleased with how the Arizona business evolved that starting one in San Diego was a must," Halbert explained. "The no-pressure dating environment is a perfect way for people to get to know each other; the focus is on fun and friendship."

The grand opening event - "The Lobster Run" - is open to members and non-members. Singles will head south of the border for lunch in Puerto Nuevo and continue to Rosarito Beach for beach fun, music and libations. The event is scheduled for July 21; cost is $39.

Membership fees range from $20-$40 per month; no long-term commitments are required and group discounts are offered.
