Prosperity Studios Encourages US Veterans Opportunities to Work on the President's Legacy -- Hope on AFRICA Program
The President's Legacy -- Hope on AFRICA is
an international public/private partnership lead by Prosperity Studios Inc.
The private sector has committed $55 billion of inward investment
specifically to fund healthcare and orphancare in Africa from 2007-2010.
Congress has recognized the critical needs of Veterans returning from
conflict zones and wants to create opportunities for redeployment,
retraining and social entrepreneurship.
Ambassador Hope, Chair of Prosperity Studios, says, "We have been working
with Vets since 2001, they are natural Social Entrepreneurs, they have a
unique combination of talents, they enjoy being in service to others, they
are highly skilled and self-disciplined."

She continues, "We will be providing opportunities for at least 25,000 vets
to serve the unmet needs of the sick and orphans in Africa. It's a
priceless, life-enhancing opportunity for Vets to do good and do well."
Thirteen Veterans organizations are inviting their members to the Veterans
Summit so they can bid for contracts. Veterans & Military Families for
Progress, Veterans For Progress of America, Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of
America, Disabled American Vets, Paralyzed Vets of America, Blinded
Veterans Association, Woman in Military Service, Veterans of Foreign Wars,
American Legion, Vietnam Vets of America, Empowering Veterans, National
Veterans Foundation and the National Guard.
On Capital Hill, both Republican and Democrats agree that creating new and
innovative opportunities for returning Veterans is top priority.
Speaker Pelosi, Senator's Carey (D-MA), Chabot (R-OH) Landrieu (D-LA),
Snowe (R-ME), and Webb (D-VA) are backing the innovative redeployment plan
plus Congresswoman Shea-Porter (D-NH), Congressmen Braley (D-IA), Carney
(D-PA), Gilchrest (R-MD), Hare (D-IL) Hodes (D-NH), Murphy (R-PA), Peterson
(D-MN), Rodriguez (D-TX), Sestak (D-PA), Smith
(R-NJ), Space (D-OH), Walz (D-MN) and Whitehouse (D-RI).
Jose Fonseca, Chief Operating Officer at Prosperity Studios will be
co-coordinating the Veteran's Summit to promote the opportunities for
Veterans and Veteran-owned businesses. Volunteers are needed in Washington,
DC to organize the Summit.
Opportunities for Veterans and Veteran-owned businesses include:
1) Mobilization of 13 million Vets to become Virtual Parents for the 13
million orphans in Africa by working with www.military.com and
www.vets.org.
2) Teams of Veterans to go to 53 African countries and digitally database
the orphans working with our local Program Directors.
Skills must include digital photography, Microsoft Excel and databases.
3) Re-training of returning Vets with skills to serve on the Program.
4) Customer Service Contracts -- online and by phone support to Virtual
Parents (set aside for paralyzed, disabled and blind vets).
5) 2,200 teams of vets with survival skills and physical strength to work
with local laborers to create bricks, clear land and lay foundations for
the Children's Villages.
6) Contracts of 6,000 units of furniture, lighting, chairs, equipment,
fittings, technologies etc for Vet-owned manufacturing businesses (can
partner with existing local disabled groups).
7) Seek and find contract for Vets to locate used equipment for
micro-enterprises and negotiate tax-write off or revenue share deal and
organize shipping to specific Children's Villages.
E.g. machines to cut chickens into quarters are needed. Chicken processors
in the US can be located to provide de-commissioned machines (Recycling of
materials and equipment is a core Program policy).
8) Vet inspectors to test soil and award Minority farmers with contracts to
grow organic, nutritious fruit and vegetables for the orphans and also
provide technology transfer so they can grow cash crops for Fair Trade
distributors.
