Crossfire War – Iran Positions Guard Units in S.Iraq – S. Iran

Crossfire War – TEHRAN – DAMASCUS – ANKARA WATCH – West Asia Theatre: Tehran – Baghdad – Ankara – Riyadh – Damascus/London – Washington – Beirut – Irbil – Jeruslaem – Paris – Rome – Cairo; Iran Positions Revolutionary Guards in South Iraq – South Iran in Case of US Marine Land Invasion

Night Watch: BANDAR ABBAS – Debka reports Tehran has begun to position Revolutionary Guard units in south Iraq and south Iran in preparation of a possible land invasion by U. S. Marines stationed on the warships and strike forces in the Persian Gulf. Debka states the British Sun newspaper on Monday June 25, “It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably, made initial reports on Tehran’s latest moves. In effect, it means we are in a full war with Iran-but nobody has officially declared it.” That is hardly surprising since governments in the West are still desperately clinging to the hope that somehow an eleventh hour deal can be made with Iran and (f)allout war will be avoided. Tehran deliberately lets the West entertain that myth as Iran completes its preparations and positions its units. This is an obvious follow up to the yearlong maneuvers Tehran conducted all last year to early this year, both offensive and defensive. [DEBKA]

Some of the units Tehran is deploying will be based in Iran’s Khuzestan province that borders the northern Persian Gulf just across from the Iraq city of Basra. Others are in position to repel attempts by the U. S. to attack Iran’s infrastructure in the south and oil installations. Since Bandar Abbas, on the Strait of Hormuz, is the location of the Revolutionary Guards headquarters then I suspect defensive positions have been taken up there. However, a few years ago, when U. S. President George Bush started mentioning attacking Iran as an “option on the table”, Iran Defense Ministry responded by saying they will not let the U. S. attack first.

Debka reports this is not the only military action that has received almost no publicity. Turkey’s invasion of northern Iraq is continuing as is Ankara’s bombardment of Kurdish PKK positions along the Turkey – Iraq border, yet neither Ankara/Washington or Kurdish authorities in northern Iraq in cities like Irbil, are saying anything publicly, a behind the scenes diplomatic agreement-understanding. Business interests they represent will wait and see who wins the war and adjust their investments, alter their projections accordingly, an event adjustment. The fighting at the Palestinian refugee camp in Nahr al-Bared in northern Lebanon, just outside Tripoli, near the Syrian border is still ongoing despite Beirut’s pronouncement the operation had nearly ended. There are even reports Damascus continues to send hundreds of Palestinian reinforcements into northern Lebanon, the Beqaa Valley and into the mountains north of Tripoli and south of Beirut. The total number of Islamic militants sent, from a variety of extremist units, is currently 1,600 and this confirms suspicions, expressed on crossfirewar.com when fighting began May 20, that Damascus will use the war to justify its invasion of Lebanon to reclaim control over the country. In the meantime, Israel tanks and armored-infantry units are now engaged in daily heavy combat with Palestinian fighters armed with anti-tank weapons in north and south Gaza.

Fighting in this theatre, on all these fronts, will not only continue but also increase daily. There should be latest news updates-analysis in the morning and evening each day on crossfirewar.com as has been the pattern for more than a year now. Not to mention the numerous news sites and financial – industrial services linked to Crossfire War on the right column of the title page. Two of the financial services I highly recommend are the Bank for International Settlements-Basel, Switzerland and the Central Bank of Iran-Tehran. Their analysis will be most revealing and they are no strangers to each other.
