Former Executives for Sprint Nextel and IBM Bring Fortune 500 Experience to BroadSoft's Board of Directors
VoIP Market Leader Welcomes Strategic Planning and Financial Expertise From Thomas N. Kelly Jr. and Douglas L. Maine

NXTcomm07 -- BroadSoft, Inc., a leading
provider of VoIP application software, today announced at NXTcomm07 that
Thomas N. Kelly Jr., former chief strategy officer for Sprint Nextel, and
Douglas L. Maine, former chief financial officer for IBM and MCI, have
joined the
BroadSoft Board of Directors.
"It is well-known in the telecom industry that BroadSoft is growing rapidly
and expanding our global footprint as our BroadWorks platform is
increasingly instrumental in the migration trend from class 5 switches to
all-IP networks," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO for BroadSoft.
"Having these two notable leaders of the telecom and software industries
join our board exemplifies our commitment to growing smart, while helping
our service provider customers create new services."

Kelly served as chief strategy officer and executive vice president of
transition integration with Sprint Nextel from 2005 until he retired in
2006. He served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of
Nextel for more than two years before its merger with Sprint. Before
becoming COO in 2003, Kelly served as executive vice president and chief
marketing officer since he began his career with Nextel in 1996. Prior to
Nextel, Kelly was vice president of marketing for AT&T Wireless. He also
served as a partner in Howard Bedford Nolan, a marketing consultancy for
Fortune 500 companies.
Maine brings more than two decades of financial expertise in the
communications and software industries. He served as general manager of the
Consumer Products Industry Division for International Business Machines
Corporation (IBM) from 2003 until his retirement in 2005. From 2000 to
2003, he was general manager of ibm.com, IBM's $13 billion, 10,000-employee
direct sales and service organization. He joined IBM in 1998 as Chief
Financial Officer following a 20-year career with MCI, where he was CFO
from 1992 to 1998. During his tenure as CFO for MCI, the company's market
value quadrupled; while holding that same position at IBM, that company's
market value doubled.
"Tom and Doug are valuable additions to BroadSoft's
board," added Tessler. "They both bring expertise from companies that
are global industry leaders, and serve on the boards of other dynamic
companies. Tom's strategic-planning expertise, and Doug's demonstrable
success at increasing the market value of a company will help steer
BroadSoft to further success."
Kelly is currently on the boards of Gracenote, Inc., Scotts Miracle-Gro,
and the Greater D.C. Sports Alliance. Maine is currently a director of
Rockwood Holdings, Alliant Techsystems and Long Lines LLC.
