The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas Showcases the Latest Trends in Jewelry
The Week-Long International Event Closes After Much Buzz and Excitement

Over 21,000 jewelry retailers from 72
countries exited The 16th Annual JCK Show ~ Las Vegas 2007 with new
products, new trends and new ideas to bring back to their retail stores.
Over the last five days, the retailers had the chance to meet with 3,400
manufacturers and suppliers from over 20 countries that offered everything
from diamonds, gems and watches to equipment technology and packaging --
all of the key products needed for a successful retail business.
"From the high-end manufacturers to the first time designer, the buzz was
that the JCK Show ~ Las Vegas was a great event," said Dave Bonaparte,
Group Vice President of JCK Events. "We continue to reconfigure the floor
to make it easier for buyers to find what they are looking for, and are
thrilled that so many of our exhibitors and attendees were able to connect,
do business and make this one of the most successful jewelry events of the
year."
"We had appointments with retailers non-stop for the entire JCK Show; it
was truly a terrific event," said Gadi Cohen, General Manager of Universal
Pacific, an affiliate of Pluczenik. "We were showcasing our Escada line
and picked up a lot of new retail business during the Show."
"This was the best Show I have done in 16 years. I've been offered space
at other Las Vegas events, but I'm sticking with JCK and LUXURY -- I'm not
interested in participating in any other events," said Saro Marukian,
President of Siera Jewelry Inc. "We created three new designs using
princess diamonds that we showcased and they were very well received by the
retailers."
First time Design Center exhibitor Kelim Jewelry Design was thrilled with
the reaction from the retailers: "We secured 40 new customers at this
event, which far exceeded our expectations. We loved being in the Design
Center and can't wait for the 2008 event."
Jim Krichner, Vice President of Krichner who showcased the Mother & Child
brand in the Plumb Club, said, "This was a very good show for us, in fact
one of the best. The Mother & Child category is growing and we had a
chance to meet with high-end retailers who are now carrying more 'push
presents.'"
A&Z Pearls' President Avi Raz credited the success he had at the show to
pre-planning. "We sent out our brand new catalog to 7,500 stores and I can
honestly say this was the best Show we had in our entire 27 years in
business. My advice to other exhibitors is to go the extra mile pre-show;
it pays off when you get to the Show."
Phyllis Bergman from Mercury Ring Corporation said, "LUXURY and JCK
combined exceeded all of my expectations."
Major retailers from around the world attended the show looking for the
latest in gems, watches, diamonds, and fine jewelry. Seen walking the
floor were executives from Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom,
Fortunoff, Blue Nile, Amazon.com, Home Shopping Network, JC Penney, KMART,
Kohl's, Macy's East, Macy's West, TJ Maxx, Costco, Dillards, Disney and
many others. In addition, independent retailers including Birks & Mayors;
Finley Fine Jewelry, Fred Leighton, Fred Meyer, Hannoush Jewelers, Helzberg
Diamonds, Verace St John Designer Jewelry; Lily & Co.; Reinhold; Bernie
Robbins; Don Muller Gallery; Deja & Co.; French Designer Jeweler; XAN
Jewelry and thousands of others walked the floor.
The conference program and networking events at the JCK Show were a huge
draw with thousands of retailers attending sessions and events. On Monday
afternoon Martin Rapaport hosted the Rapaport Breakfast, which featured a
discussion about Fair Trade and included a speaker from South Africa.
"Being at the JCK is the single biggest thing to happen in South Africa's
development sector, empowering emerging black jewelers. It is the
culmination of nine years of intensive skills development and training.
Rapaport's marketing initiative unlocks the most critical success factor:
route-to-market," said Demos Takoulas, CEO and founder of Vukani-Ubuntu
(), South Africa's oldest jewelry development project.
The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas floor, which was spread across two buildings for
the first time, was buzzing with activity and celebrity sightings,
including Mary Hart from Entertainment Tonight; Comedian J. Anthony Brown
for watch company Jasuka; R&B Singer Leah DeVon and Model Rachel Hunter for
Zalemark; Model Kathy Ireland for House of Taylor; NFL Star Jamal Anderson

All of these celebrities attended the Show to help support various

For the first time The JCK Show featured 400 exhibiting companies at the
Las Vegas Convention Center. Cadeaux, the Luxury Gift Collection, which
made its debut at the JCK Show, was well received by hundreds of jewelers.
In fact, pocketbook designer Debbie Brooks commented, "We are thrilled with
the response from the jewelers who see a terrific synergy for many of the
luxury gift items in their retail stores." The new pavilion was home to 40
exhibitors from around the world featuring products from home accessories
to tableware.
