Deutsche Bahn selects telent to integrate communications infrastructure along railway

New communications key to reducing costs and improving efficiency on Frankfurt's main railway
Backnang, 11 May 2007 - telent plc (LSE: TLNT), a leading technology services company, today announced it has been awarded a contract by Deutsche Bahn to upgrade and integrate the communications infrastructure for the railway's interlocking system, ESTW in Bad Vilbel, Germany.
The project will see telent plan and deliver telecommunications equipment for the ESTW signalling system along the railway.
The contract will include the installation and commissioning of fibre and copper cables, transmission systems and public address systems, as well as fire and burglar alarm systems, digital communication systems, video-surveillance infrastructure, gate and detection systems for railway crossings.
